What happens to us when we read? What effect does text have in our brain and what is the rol of linguistic, grammatical and rhetorical styles? Does it matter when and where we read and what we choose – paper or digital? What is the role our body plays in the reading process and what is the role of cognition, emotion and empathy in this? Is there a link with our childhood in how we read novels? Prof. dr. Michael Burke will tell more about this at the table d’hôte of 11 march 2019 in the faculty Club of Utrecht University. Prof. Burke is Professor for Rhetoric (Humanities) and UU Honours Dean.
