After an intense year and half of project work, Dr. Alessio Antonini (The Open University) and colleagues from Le Mans University and CNRS-IRISA have released the Reading Experience Ontology (REO) which is now hosted on GitHub and available for free re-use. REO incorporates what we learned from a wide range of sources and case studies, providing a common language to describe, annotate and share research on reading. REO comes in two versions: a slim compact version 1.x, including a subset of concepts validated and used in READ-IT; and a version 2.x, extended with work in progress. REO is currently used as a base for READ-IT toolbox, implemented as part of the CIDOC CRM ecosystem for cultural heritage.
